To me, this looks more like rufipennella, with what looks like dark chocolate brown fore legs with white marks rather than elongella/betulicola, but not easy to tell from the photos.
I didn't think that elongella/betulicola were reliably separable without dissection (unless reared, as the foodplants are different), or is there a distinguishing feature that I am not aware of?
I'm afraid that doesn't help, Mark - if anything the leg is now obscuring more of the costa!
