Black-spotted Chestnut in Herts

I see that Black-spotted Chestnut was recorded in Herts yesterday (per iSpot), and confirmed by Colin Plant, so fingers crossed for a mega start to the UTB year!

  1. Indeed, Keith, quite a lot have been recorded in Beds/Herts/Essex/Cambs over the past couple of months and the moth could be around until February or March, flying even on very cold nights, but the only regular site in our area so far is at Denham in the very far south-east corner of Bucks. It does seem to be spreading but only very slowly.
