Hi Steve, If only - that would certainly relieve the boredom! Actually, your Common Quaker is not such an unusual record as a one-off (they can occasionally appear even before Christmas). The second half of February is the expected time for it to begin to appear regularly in the garden here and there has been only one earlier appearance (25th Jan in 2016). Its first sighting occasionally slips into March but I well remember the awful start to 2013 where I'd seen only nine macro species in the garden by the end of March. Common Quaker didn't appear that year until 9th April. I hope we don't get another start to a year like that in a hurry.
