Another flushed micro

 Hi there,

Found this on Cholesbury Common yesterday (day-flying) - I still have the specimen. The short prominent longditudinal streaks near the tornus don't quite look like anything in the guide, but I'm thinking either Cydia fagiglandana or Notocelia trimaculana - which probably means that it's something completely different!!

HELP!!! David

  1. Hi David,
Can't tell anything from the first image but from the second it might be Cydia ulicetana. It is common wherever there's gorse. If there is gorse on the Common, go back and give it a (gentle) wack and I suspect more will fly out ... and look out for Grapholita internana at the same time.

  2. Hi Dave,
You are quite right - this was found near gorse, and today, several of them flew up each time I went past a gorse bush. I imagine that confirms your ID?
No sign yet of G. intermana, but I'll keep looking.
    Many thanks
    David
