A bit more ID help needed

Last night's catch was considerably reduced compared to the previous night but still contained the following. I think the first two are Water Carpet and Notocelia cynosbatella but would appreciate confirmation as they would both be new species for me. I have included the pug just in case it is possible to identify it. The final one looks as if it should be easy but it doesn't seem to quite fit any of the images in the books.

  1. Hello Andy, yes to Water Carpet and Notocelia cynosbatella (the "yellow nose" is a giveaway on the latter). The final one is another moth which the Victorians gave an inappropriate name to - Yellow-barred Brindle. You might very occasionally see one that has lived long enough to fade to yellow but they start off green and most sightings will be of that colour. The pug I'll pass on, I'm afraid.

  2. Thank you. Perhaps not as badly named as the Spinach!
