Stoke Common, Bucks.

A couple of days ago I spent an hour or so at Stoke Common, checking out the new leaves and shoots. There are a lot of Birch saplings there and three species of Eriocrania larvae were evident in blister mines in the leaves:
sangii, semipurpurella and unimaculella; (the last aka Heringocrania unimaculella).
Anybody intending to see them should hurry, they are pretty much already mature and are descending to the ground to pupate. The adults won't emerge until next year.
Also present were this Tortrix on Scots Pine (I don't know exactly what it is, yet)

...and this:
.. a larval case of Coleophora lusciniaepennella on Sallow.
