These two trapped last night together with 33 LYU and a few other odds. The first looks like a Dotted Clay but as I haven't caught one on my garden before I thought I had better check. The second looks like a Marbled beauty but slightly different to others I have had.
Hello Tom, a check of the hind-wings on the first moth would have told you that it is Lesser Yellow Underwing. The second one is indeed Marbled Beauty.
ReplyDeleteStill haven't worked out how to look at the hind-wings without damaging the moth - have to get a small paint brush as I have seen recommended. Cheers as ever.
