Rain in the evening, rain in the morning, but in between, three of my favourite Autumn moths arrived last night: Large Ranunculus, Frosted Orange and that Darth Vader of the moth world, Black Rustic. Four each of the last two plus loads of Large Yellow Underwings and their russety or grey pals.

Nice one, Martin. We do need to savour these autumn-coloured moths! It is a depressing thought that we're now waiting for fewer than 20 macro species which have still to appear locally in 2015, but they do include things like Merveille du Jour which would brighten up anyone's day.
ReplyDeleteHi Dave - yes, the mornings are getting darker and trapping maybe less enticing, but the thought of a Merveille du Jour will certainly keep me going. Thanks once again for all that you and the other UTM experts do to give invaluable help. All warm wishes, Martin
