I'm trying to make this into a Brindled Pug, but am confused by the white spots and the lack of a prominent central elongated black spot. But then, I'm easily confused . . . . and not only by pugs!!

ReplyDeleteI'm sure that's still a Brindled Pug despite it being darker than usual and with those unusually clear tornal spots. The slit-like discal spot with a small area of whitish beyond it is clear on the right wing at least, as are the usual series of wedges.

ReplyDeleteHmm...! Now that you've put it in my mind, I suppose I might be accused of trying to shoe-horn the one above into what I'd expect it to be. A rather early Common Pug might just fit it too (that would certainly explain the white tornal spots). See what others have to say.
