Having now got a better photo of the deformed micro from my previous post against a neutral background I think Acleris sparsana looks most likely.
Last night's rather disappointing catch did include a late Pseudargyrotoza conwagana.

ReplyDeleteI agree, that's Acleris sparsana. Thanks for adding the new photo! As for conwagana, I've had a few late sightings in recent years which might be indicative of a third brood (23 Oct 2017, 7 Oct 2019, 14 Oct 2021) and I see below that Mary-Anne Hall had one in south Bucks last week.
