Three tired out moths this morning.
Sorry about the first picture, I opened the pot and it was gone. Maybe a faded Garden Rose Tortrix or something else?
The second I'm guessing is a knackered November agg.?
The third a tired Yellow Line Quaker? Or maybe my first Brick?

Hi Mark,
ReplyDeleteThe first one is 'something else', Acleris sparsana.
Second I'd agree with your ID and the third looks like a worn Brick to me, but see what others think.

Hi Mark, I agree with all of Nigel's comments. The bottom one is indeed a Brick. You can still pick out bits of the red reticulation and from what's left of the outer cross-line you can see that it is quite jagged and not the smooth straight line of Yellow-line Quaker. You may also have noticed a difference in behaviour - in my experience Brick becomes very restless very quickly while Yellow-line Quaker will just sit there and play dead.
ReplyDeletehi both, thanks for this. Yea, a new moth. Yes I noticed it was lively, I nearly lost it as I was expecting it to be docile.
