Following the so-called "Beast from the East", from which we seem to have got off quite lightly here (not much more than an inch of snow over a couple of days and that was it), I've had moths to the garden actinic light every night since the 4th and even the local Brown Long-eared Bats have woken up to the possibility of a potential mothy meal. However, last night was the first to produce more than a dozen individuals to the trap: March Moth (4), Shoulder Stripe (1), Dotted Border (2), Common Quaker (5), Hebrew Character (2), Satellite (1) & Chestnut (1). The improvement in numbers should be fairly steady from now onwards, all being well.
