A different bug

With a general lack of moths the most interesting insect in my trap this week was this bug. About 11mm in length.


I have no idea where to start on bug identification so any pointers would be welcome.

  1. Hi Andy, it looks to me like Nabis ferus (Field Damsel Bug) which does over-winter as an adult, although the size you quote seems rather large. Beware, though, that I'm not an expert on bugs so may be wrong!
