Still catching up - ID help please

I have got really behind with identifying my moths and 25th July was a really big night for me. I've now reached the 100 species mark for the year (my first year of spotting), which I'm very pleased about. Here are a few that I'm either not 100% sure on or haven't got a clue about, so I'd appreciate some help please.

  1. Hi Jacqui,

The first and last are Common Rustic agg. (either Common Rustic or Lesser Common Rustic, dissection needed to separate the two).

The others are, in order, Dusky Thorn, a Scoparid species which is a bit too far gone to identify (possibly Eudonia mercurella), Euzophera pinguis, Dark Arches, Tree-lichen Beauty, Endotricha flammealis and Ypsolopha scabrella.

I hope the Tree-lichen Beauty wasn't one of those which you didn't have a clue about - that's a very smart moth and quite distinctive!

  2. Thanks Dave. Yes, I got the Tree-Lichen Beauty as well as the Dark Arches and Ypsolopha scabrella. I had thought that the first one was an Ear Moth, so got that one very wrong.
