Grangelands, Bucks

On Monday night (6th) I ran a single MV light in Finemere Wood, Bucks.  The first moth to arrive was a smart White-marked (new to the site) but it was all downhill after that with only 15 further species recorded, although they did include Blossom Underwing and Lead-coloured Drab.  Last night (7th) I ran some MV lights on the Chiltern chalk downland at Grangelands and there was some sign of improvement at last with nearly 30 species recorded there.  Joining the usual early spring suspects were Ypsolopha mucronella, Semioscopis steinkellneriana, Water Carpet, Scorched Carpet, Brindled Beauty & Nut-tree Tussock.
