After seeing the recent post about Tawny Pinion i prayed i would get one and was amazed when i did, I've never seen one before. Even more amazing i had another Tawny Pinion in a trap i check weekly in Northampton. It must be having a good year. Also in my garden trap was Common Plume and Beautiful Plume as well as the usuals.

Excellent, Darren. There's hope for me yet, then!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if he will post himself but David Roy also caught a Tawny Pinion in Crowmarsh Gifford over the weekend - a first for him too. It was a first me last year as well - I think I've mentioned on more than one occasion that it was one of my bogey moths. then i caught one in my garden followed immediately by a couple more in local woodland traps, so it was a similar scenario as for you Darren. It's a fantastic moth.
ReplyDeleteYes, nice to find in the trap on monday morning. Also had an early grey.
