Seems a bit early for plumes but two of these in the trap last night. I assume they will be Emmelina
monodactyla but, as usual, cannot be sure. Wingspan 26mm body about 9mm.
Hello Tom, I think you are fairly safe with E.monodactyla as the only confusion species is E.argoteles which is believed still to be restricted to the fens of Cambridgeshire. I've actually had monodactyla every month of the year apart from December, but March onwards is quite usual for it.
