A single MV trap run in local woodland here in Bucks last night produced a typical selection for the time of year. They included two particularly nice moths, the first being everyone's favourite autumnal species the Merveille du Jour while the second was the much-declined Figure of Eight. The latter was a rather scruffy individual, having spent time under the moth-trap's sheet which always seems to be their favourite place to hide away.
