A couple of micros to check

Having been going over my photos and IDs from the weekend I thought it would be wise to check on these two.

This one I had provisionally identified as Hedya pruniana but to the untrained eye there seem to be several similar species.

This one I think maybe Phtheochroa rugosana. If so is perhaps a bit more unusual than the other micros I have been catching.

  1. Hi Andy, yes to both your IDs. Phtheochroa rugosana is a smart moth which seems to turn up quite regularly in gardens in our area.

  2. Thank you. Some of the micros are certainly very nicely marked when you look closely.
