Some IDs please?

I got a couple of tiny micros amongst other things

I think I might have

Pyralidae sp - but not sure which one?

argyresthia trifasciata

Stigmella anomalella (even smaller - I reckon 4 mm)

Scoparia pyralella? Seems to have more white than my previous catch

Double Square-spot

  1. Hi Mark, the first two show an Ephestia but unfortunately it needs dissection to get to species (although will almost certainly prove to be E.unicolorella). Argyresthia trifasciata is correct (it is certainly having a fantastic year in my garden!), then you have Coptotriche (was Emmetia) marginea and Scoparia pyralella. The final one is indeed Double Square-spot; the only confusion species is Triple-spotted Clay which seems to be very uncommon locally.
