On Monday night a rather late (and worn) example of Epermenia falciformis was trapped in Finemere Wood, Bucks. Last night in Bernwood Forest, Bucks a second generation male Yellow-tail struck me as being rather unusual but on looking back through my own records I see I have had October sightings of adults previously in 2014, 2017, 2018 & 2020, the latest date being the 20th (in 2020).

Less unusual in Bernwood last night were examples of micros Epinotia tenerana, Eudonia truncicolella and Hypsopygia costalis, all of which are regularly recorded this month.
