Chestnut or Dark Chesnut etc

How about this one Dave? I'm favouring Dark chestnut.

And would you be happy with common rather than small Quaker for this one?

  1. Hello Alan,
Your Chestnut could well be Dark Chestnut but it is difficult to be sure. By this time of year these over-wintering species are getting somewhat worn and frayed at the edges so it becomes more and more difficult to be sure of their ID from a photo. The Quaker is definitely a Small Quaker.
