IDs please

hi, a few micros from me. Sorry the pics are so poor.

the first one might be a grey Clepsis consimilana?

the next two pics maybe Homoesoma sinuella

then two pics of Phycitodes binaevella?

finally Stenoptilia pterodactyla?

  1. Hello Mark, the first is just another Cnephasia but I agree with your other IDs. You have to be careful with the Phycitodes group but your example is good for binaevella due to its size. It is in any case the most common species, but the others are now found in our area and they can no longer be regarded as being purely coastal in distribution.

  2. thanks Dave, I'm learning that distributions/ habitats in books may now be out of date.
