Adela cuprella?

Clearly not the right time of year, so maybe not, and I am giving quite a lot of weight to the big red eyes - the colour looks more like reaumurella. Also a fox moth - not sure from the UK moth distribution maps whether that is interesting or not, but new for me.

  2. Peter is correct, Andrew. It is one of two all-black caddis species in the genus Mystacides (azurea or nigra). The third member is Mystacides longicornis whose wings have black and buff stripes, a species which is commonly found in moth traps.
