Also seen on Maypole Hill were several Nemophora metallica
We started in the Round Garden, an old orchard undergoing sympathetic restroration. Several large clumps of Mistletoe (Viscum album) on Apple trees (Malus pumilla) were examined and a Coleophorid was found. There was no immediately obvious feeding damage which made us think this might have wandered off the host. Some, possibly related feeding damage was evident on leaves nearby. Any thoughts on what species this might be most welcome!
Evening moth trapping produced several interesting species, several Boxworm (Cydalima perspectalis)
and lots of Tree-lichen Beauty (Cryphia algae)
Also of interest
- Hemp-agrimony Plume (Adaina microdactyla)
- Grey Ermine (Yponomeuta sedella)
Sorry I couldn't make it, but we had visitors.
