Thorn & Sallow ID please

hi, I'm going back and forth over whether the two Thorns I got this morning are August or September. It doesn't help that they are worn.

Then I have my first Sallow of the year - very worn but I think it's probably a Centre-barred?

    Hi Mark, the thorns both look like rather tired Dusky Thorn to me. The third is indeed Centre-barred Sallow although surprisingly worn for this early in its flight period. I saw my first of the season last night too, while doing some 'away' trapping in the Chilterns.
