Buff Poplar Hawk?



I don't know if it is possible to tell from such a faded specimen, but might this Thursday night caller be an example of the buff-coloured form of the Poplar Hawk?  It seems to have a markedly browny tinge. Many thanks for any views.  Martin Wainwright, Thrupp, Oxon

    Yes Peter, I wasn't optimistic but I have never seen a PH with that brown shade which shows up in the pics, specially on the body
