Aethes tesserana

This really smart day-flying tortrix was found while surveying on the National Trust's Bradenham estate in Bucks yesterday.  Not the best of images but from it you can clearly see that the pictures in the micro-moth field-guide and on UK-Moths really don't do this colourful species justice!  There are about a dozen records for VC24, all except one from chalk grassland sites in the Chilterns.
