...and look at my prezzies. A fine Privet Hawk, the first of the year and more than a month earlier than
last year's debut here for the species on 22 June, plus a hungry brood of Emperor Moth caterpillars which hatched overnight. Many more moths besides but I am too busy celebrating to check them out just now. More later.

ReplyDeleteThanks v much Mark - it's nice to think of your lamp beaming out from the heights of Garsington while mine illuminates the swamps of Thrupp. Peter, thanks to your and Dave's most welcome advice, I am very well prepared with hawthorn by the shedload. Here's hoping they don't get parasites or damp off. Happy times with all this sun and warm nights M
