All manner of lovely things are coming in at the moment here in Thrupp, Oxon, with a Puss Moth and Lime Hawk among many other new arrivals this morning - once again well ahead of last year's debuts. But for now, may I just ask if hours of brain-cudgelling and eye-defocussing has come up with the right answers for these three micros? I have them - in order from the top - as
Pseudargyrotoza conwagana, Scythris picaepennis and
Celypha lacunana. I will be quite proud with even a score of one out of the three.

Hello Martin, two out of three is really good, well done!! Top and bottom are correct but the middle one is likely to be either Scrobipalpa acuminatella or Aproaerema anthyllidella, both of which are very common and can end up looking completely anonymous like the one in your picture.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Dave - that's most encouraging. Isn't this a great time for moths (and their fans)? All v best as ever
