Hi Dave, I think I have now identified it. Nemapogon granella (Corn Moth). I have recorded one before in October 2017. Should I keep it for confirmation?
Hi Steve, unless your October 2017 specimen was checked I think I'd be tempted to hang on to it. N.granella is certainly very uncommon here in Bucks (only five records that I'm aware of) whereas there are about 160 records for the fairly similar N.cloacella.
Bit difficult to tell from that angle, Steve, but it could be something like Acrolepia autumnitella.

ReplyDeleteThanks Dave. The previous N.granella was confirmed by dissection, so I will keep this specimen as well.
