Pale Prominent

Had first Pale Prominent of the year in garden last night. Otherwise the only noticeable thing was 14 Double-striped Pugs which may well be the most I've ever had in one night, especially in April. No other pugs with them but did have Oak-tree and Brindled night before. Marc Botham, Didcot

  1. Oak-tree here at Westcott last night. Haven't had Brindled yet which is a bit odd as they usually appear the other way round, Brindled first.

  2. Everything seems a bit muddled this year so far - not surprising given the weather keeps changing so much. Last night no DS Pugs, but did have Oak-tree again. So Oak-tree, Brindled and 0 DS Pugs on saturday night, 14 DS Pugs and no other pugs on sunday night then Oak-tree and 0 DS Pugs last night. Very odd. Maybe there was a virgin female DS Pug in the trap on sunday night?

  3. I was starting to wonder where the pugs had got to this year. Finally getting a Brindled on 5th and a Double-striped and a lovely fresh V-pug on 7th. The only other moth of note was my first ever Pine Beauty also on 7th.
