This was on an electricity pole at Otmoor today (7th). Can I assume it is a Red Underwing? The notice next to it precluded closer examination.

Thanks Dave. Amazingly that is the first I have seen since I was a schoolboy. I notice on the map there are no recent records for SU99 (the hectad where I live).
