Common swift, Pale oak beauty and micro

Female common swift with smaller male orange swift
(latter "playing" dead; flew off fine)

Judging by tip of forewing underside, suggest Pale oak beauty?

Grateful for help with this Crambidea?

  1. Hello Alan, I would have said that the Swifts are both Orange and that the geometer is Engrailed rather than a Pale Oak Beauty (although the angle from which your photo of it is taken doesn't help). The crambid is Agriphila tristella.

    1. Thanks Dave.
I've produced a new blog with 2 more photos which may help with ID.

Not sure about swift but inclined to agree with engrailed. I was going by W&T pic of underside forewing tip for pale oak beauty but there is no comparable pic for Engrailed. Angle it's holding wings looks more like engrailed.
