Response to moth fix!

I saw Dave's post about catching moths in some number, as usual accompanied by great photos.  Given that one of the species was Tortricodes alternella can I check a terrible photo that I took in Langley Park Country Park of an out of focus moth on Sunday 7th...could it be the same species?

With many apologies, but some of us struggle to take good photos, especially if the moth flies off!

All the best

  1. Hi Barnaby,
I can assure you that we all end up with pictures like that occasionally! I can't tell for sure but it could indeed be a nicely-marked Tortricodes alternella. The moth does fly in sunshine as well as at night.
