Something different.

In the midst of all the good springtime moths coming in now, including pristine Streamers and immaculate Scorched Carpets, I offer this photo of a rather pathetic dead micro. Dead because I caught it on 31 July last year in my back garden in Chorleywood (Bucks): Cosmiotes stabilella, which, dead or alive, I think is unlikely to have its portrait taken too often. A difficult ID and not one I've made before.
Incidentally, Like Dave the other day, I've had a couple of early Scorched Carpets in March, but (just) in Herts.

  1. Andy, stabilella has a creamy white head, yours looks dark, so I think you need to think again on this one
