Hi Steve, you are indeed missing something obvious - don't forget the small waves! It is usually Small Dusty Wave which gets confused for a pug but there you have one of its better-marked relatives, the Single-dotted Wave.
Thanks both.To add insult to injury I've already had this moth this year- in my defence I thought maybe it ought to be a little less white. Perhaps I got carried away with my first White Point and started to look for something less obvious!.
