Orange-tailed Clearwing at Cookham

Having seen Dave's picture of his clearwing trap that he posted yesterday, I thought I would put mine out in the garden today. I put the VES lure in the lid compartment and wandered off round the garden. The VES lure has attracted Yellow-legged Clearwing in previous years (although not until the end of June or early July). On returning to look at the trap, I found this individual sitting in the bottom of the container.

Orange-tailed Clearwing is a new record for my garden (I noticed Adam in Marlow Bottom recorded one the other day). It also just happens to be my 500th species for the garden list, so a rather nice landmark moth.
