We have a flourishing colony of Scarlet Tigers here at the moment, just by the canal and being much-photographed by narrowboaters. As you can see, the prospects for future colonies are looking good too. The male in this instance behaved exactly as described in WT&L, flying wildly in late afternoon before fastening himself to a female, very rapidly.
