Another night at the museum.

Left a light at the musuem again to see what was left of the hot spell.

NFY were Dun-bar, Coronet, Barred Straw, Fan-footed Wave, Small Emerald, Blotched Emerald, Pretty Chalk Carpet, Buff Arches, Burnished Brass, Wax Moth, Mother of Pearl and Brown China Mark.

I'd appreciate it if someone could help with this Wainscot:

And these micros:

  1. I can't see enough of your Wainscot, Dave, but if you were considering Southern then I think the lack of hooked wing-tips might rule that one out. The micros look to me like Lathronympha strigana, Ancylis achatana (surely you must be seeing lots of this one at the moment?!), Crassa unitella, one of the Swammerdamia species (needs a better image to be sure which one) and possibly Delplanqueia inscriptella (which could do with dissection).

  2. Thanx Dave. I see what you mean about the hooked wing-tips now that you've mentioned it. I've been staring too hard at Obscure and Southern Wainscot pics. I may have seen one or two of the Ancylis, but not in great numbers. This was the only one I managed to get a pic of. I think I managed to retain one or two of these so hopefully I'll send them to Peter (I still have a load of things from last year...)
    Cheers
