Last night's catch included 14 species of macro but was missing a lot that have been regular visitors recently. A fresh looking Carcina quercana and my first garden record of a Figure of Eight were pleasing but most unexpected was what I think is a Shoulder-striped Wainscot. It seems totally the wrong time of year.

Hi Andy,
ReplyDeleteThat is indeed Shoulder-striped Wainscot. In Bucks we have two confirmed late records like this, on 6th November 2004 and 8th October 2013, so it isn't unprecedented but is still quite a rare event.
Thank you for the information. I have been told of one other similar late record from Warwickshire.
