Scrobipalpa costella

I had this micro moth attracted to actinic light in my garden the night before last. I am pretty sure it is Scrobipalpa costella, a moth I have recorded before but not this early in the year. Previous records have been in May, June, September and October. I guess it is one of those moths that can turn up at pretty much any time of the year.

  1. Hi Steve,
It certainly looks like costella to me. I guess this is a little early compared to when it is usually seen but the books do say that it can turn up at any time of year. I've had it in every month from April through to December.
