After a very poor season where even the comon moths were in ones or twos and many nights nothing I had a decent night. Not many moths only 4 in fact but all new for the year and 2 new for me.
So 1 Brimstone, 1 Pebble Prominent, 1 Chocolate Tip (very nice) and what I think is a Brindled Beauty. (can someone confirm that?)
Mark Griffiths, Garsington, Oxford
Yes, Mark, that's a Brindled Beauty.
ReplyDeleteYou are not alone in getting poor garden returns - I had a grand total of three moths of three species last night and was rather miffed to find that the Rothamsted trap at Marsh Gibbon, Bucks managed to get 18 moths of 10 species even though its bulb failed part way through the night!
thanks Dave.
