Eyed Hawkmoth

Last night's garden trap yielded 5 cockchafers and 5 moths. The moths were singles of Light Brown Apple Moth, Angle Shades, Shuttle-shaped Dart, Bright-line Brown-eye and Eyed Hawkmoth - my first hawkmoth of the year. Unfortunately, although the eyes on the hindwings were displayed when initially captured, the moth refused to co-operate once the camera came out. I guess it knew I wasn't about to eat it!
