8/10 An upturn in Longwick

I smiled when I read Dave Wilton's weekend catch as he had more species than I had moths in Longwick ! Last night was a little better with the first Blair's Shoulder Knot, Pink Barred Sallow and Green brindled Crescent ( a very small one). Also what I believe is a rather attractive Pine Carpet - although I know they are tricky. It wouldn't be the first I have had here.

  1. Yes indeed, that's Pine Carpet. It seems to be appearing a little more frequently in Bucks now (Finemere Wood produced a couple last night) but it is still a good garden record.

  2. Thanks Dave. I had a Waved Black last week - I assume a second brood?

    1. That is late! My 50+ Waved Black records are all between late-June and mid-August but I see the latest version of the field guide mentions that there have been some September records which are considered as being a probable second brood.
