Not sure what the caterpillar is.
Finally a couple more pics of more recent Stigmella sp. mines - unfortunately after searching I can't find any still occupied so this might be something for next season.

Hi Mark, you're correct with Lunar Underwing and Emmelina monodactyla. The larva is Bright-line Brown-eye. What plant are on the mines on?

ReplyDeleteMark if you're not sure about some Lunar Underwing/Beaded Chestnut they can easily be cooled off in the fridge. Take them out and before they wake up lift up a forewing with a pin/needle and all should become clear.
