Apologies for a non-moth post

I was out checking for moths around the outside lights when I spotted this centipede on the wall above our compost heaps. I think it might be Scutigera coleoptrata but, as I've never seen one before, I would appreciate some help.

From what I've found out it can nip, or is that an exaggeration?

  2. Hi Nigel. You may know, but there is another similar tropical species Thereuonema tuberculate that has been found in the UK in the last 10 years. Both are introduced and would be very good records. If you like I can send the picture to a UK expert for their comment. Is that OK?
