Micro found in kitchen

I found this small moth flying around the kitchen last evening. The fw length is 6mm.

I feel I should know what it is, but have drawn a blank looking through the field guides. Can anybody help?

  1. Looks like a Mompha species e.g. M. bradleyi (good image in Norfolk Moths website) but seems to need dissection to verify.

  2. I agree, a Mompha that will need dissection. Funnily enough I potted one up in the house here at Westcott yesterday too. Most of mine turn out to be jurassicella but I have had bradleyi as well although not for six or seven years. I've yet to see divisella locally.

  3. Many thanks John and Dave. I did think it might be a Mompha. The moth has been kept for checking.

  4. In the house so far this year I have had Mompha epilobiella, jurassicella, subbistrigella and sturnipennella.
