A Blog for moth recorders in Bucks, Berks and Oxon
I'm not sure what to think of this moth, wingspan 22mm, in my garden trap last night. Suggestions please.
Pale Ribbon Wave?
Yes, a Riband Wave, Richard. I had a banded one in the garden trap last night too.
Thanks. I thought it must be, in spite of the unusually small size
It seems to have been a feature of the last few years that second or third broods produce some stunted individuals, presumably thanks to our ever warmer and drier summers. I've had some undersized specimens of a number of different species recently.
