Small Mottled Willow

Best night of the year so far at Ali's Pond LNR in Sonning last night - 11th June - with 21 macro spp caught. Undoubted highlight was my first ever Small Mottled Willow. I managed to prize one of its wings open carefully for a photo, so one can see the pearly delicately venated underwing.

  1. Brilliant, well done! Bordered Straw seems to have been the most numerous of the current migrant invasion and I'm surprised that there haven't been more reports locally.
